PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT COUNSEL
COACHING ON-LINE

PERSONAL MARKETING PLANNING PLUS

Phyllis Weiss Haserot, highly respected business development consultant and author of THE RAINMAKING MACHINE (Thomson/West), provides personal marketing plan coaching services on-line.

WHO NEEDS IT?

This service is targeted at those partners and associates who haven't gotten around to adequately focusing on marketing and bringing in business, either from existing clients or developing a new base. For many of them, the best answer is a personal coach who will add value through teaching a process, offering substantive ideas, helping to provide focus and organization, and being a "nudge" and a conscience.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

For the managing partner or firm leader, here is a way to finally get those reluctant or under-producing partners and prospective partners to fulfill a valuable role of partnership. Even proven business-getters can extend their range with innovative techniques. By sponsoring this service, you will be demonstrating to those individuals the firm's support and expectations.

For the individual lawyers, this provides an unusual opportunity to focus on your problems, needs and opportunities, and your results, in your style, one-on-one. It gives individual attention a new dimension.

WHY DO IT ON-LINE?

Convenience. Comfort. On your own time. It will increase the efficiency of your marketing time.

This service operates on the basis of exchange of e-mail messages and phone coaching. Both parties can be on-line at the same time for a real-time discussion. But more frequently and conveniently, sending and reading can take place by either party at any time. Your communications channels are open 24 hours a day, any day.

And because we want you to feel this is truly a personal service, we intersperse phone calls periodically after an initial introductory call.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET STARTED?

It takes the will and commitment - and, of course, a computer and e-mail. That's all.

HOW WILL THE PROCESS WORK?

Consultant and influence strategist Phyllis Weiss Haserot will ask questions to begin, sent by e-mail. This will kick off the interview and information gathering stage so that she can get to know you, your practice, your marketplace, and your opportunities. She'll find out about your communicating style and the marketing activities that you gravitate to or shy away from. She will help you identify and use the strengths of your personal behavioral style using powerful tools.

Through several sessions of on-line exchanges, she will help you to create a personal marketing plan and map out execution tactics. She'll bring fresh ideas. Continuing follow-up, always at your convenience, is part of the service. You'll have your own personal coach (and marketing therapist, as needed).

HOW WILL WE KNOW IT'S SUCCESSFUL?

You'll start by setting objectives and measure how they are being met. Together you will define and measure success.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

The cost up through preparing a basic plan is $1,200. We will then discuss how long you desire the follow up to continue and whether it will include regular phone coaching sessions and set a fee for that phase. Follow up is necessary to keep each individual focused and to maintain momentum until it becomes second nature.

WHAT AM I GAINING?

A tool, a road map, a healthier attitude toward developing new business. Help in setting priorities, fitting in marketing time, finding crucial information, and conquering the obstacles to better business development results. For the firm, a way to move closer to a marketing culture.
